To bring Takeoff to life, I designed a clean and confident visual system that reflects the app’s goal of making flight booking feel effortless and intuitive. The aesthetic is modern and minimalist, built around a deep navy base with white space and aqua blue accents, creating a sense of clarity and calm.
I selected a crisp sans-serif typeface for readability and built a clear typographic hierarchy to guide users naturally through each step. A custom icon set and cohesive component library ensured visual consistency, while rounded UI elements and subtle shadows enhanced touchability, creating a modern, mobile-friendly feel.
Layouts were structured with cards, grids, and clear sectioning to present information without overwhelming the user, and key flows like seat selection and date picking were designed with simplicity, ease of interaction, and one-handed use in mind.
The visual system is based on playing with the axes of space, even in the layout of the pieces. This is not only a reference to Zeen’s three-dimensional work, but also a way of underlining the company’s approach to transforming concepts and designs into three-dimensional and realistic visual creations.
